Hi Im trying to mesh a multi element airfoil in 3D domain with 1mm extrusion length in z direction. Im using sweep method to mesh the volume with one sweep element. I selected manual source and target option in order to get the required results. I could able to sweep the edge sizing parameter on the front face properly. But when i try to use the inflation layer it is not able to mesh. Different errors pop up with different settings and i could not mange to get it work. Any help on this would be more helpful.!

It should work (I just did a test using a circular hole instead of an aerofoil in Ansys 2021 R2).

A few questions:

1) How are you applying the MultiZone? In my test I select Sweep Size Behaviour = Sweep Edges and the 4 z-axis edges at the Sweep Edges. This made 4 elements in the z-direction so I used an Edge Sizing with 1 Division and Behaviour = Hard to enforce 1 element in the z-axis.

2) How are you applying the Inflation? I RMB on MultiZone to select Inflate This Method and for Boundary = Face of the hole (or aerofoil for you).

Lastly, I used an Edge Sizing in the hole (aerofoil for you) on one edge only - the edge on the MultiZone sweep direction to refine on the hole.

The only difference I see with the aerofoil is the difficulty in the inflation layer going around the sharp trailing edge. If so, increase the global Inflation (View Advanced Behaviour) > Maximum Angle = 180 deg (from 140 deg).
