Hi all,

I made this mesh in ICEM CFD around a NACA0015 airfoil. When I was done I exported it to FLUENT. The wing which I set as wall was not visible and not taken into account for the simulation. What can cause this?

Here you can see the mesh I made in ICEM CFD:

This is what I got in FLUENT

And here you can see that 'wing' was not passed on to FLUENT.

ICEM:

FLUENT:

It might have something to do with this. When I change one of the vertices on the wing the surface-color changes to symmetry plane instead of wall..
Any idea why this is?

Thanks!

Salut Thibalt,

I know that when you do a mesh in ICEM CFD for Fluent you must set de BC for export...try this and i sure that your problem is no more....)

Thanks for the reply, those BC are properly set, so the problem still exists :/

I fixed the problem with the surfaces in the last picture.
I forgot to press repair geometry after I've put in the body.

The wing is still not showing up in FLUENT however..

you can send the Icem files to see better the problem?

Thanks for your reply, I blocked the enclosure first and added the geometry later on, such that I can easily load in other geometries without doing the blocking all over again. I think that caused the problem.
Eventually I deleted the blocks inside the wing, which updated the .uns file. It's not really a solution, more a work around.

I'll just stick to this, it works for me, thanks anyhow!
