I am new in icem and trying to do quad + triangle 2D mesh
if i have geometry of rectangle and made block on the geometry then sliced this block into two equal square blocks i want to make one of them quad and other triangle.
I know how to do quad cells by choose the number of division for each edge then press on pre-mesh to show the mesh then update.
my question is how to make the other square block triangles ?
thanks

Many ways... you convert the structured mesh to unstructed then you save it. next you generate a new volume mesh of tri. then you can load the other one...

Hi Mohamed,

have you checked the help files of ICEM? I am quite sure that you'll find a tutorial there tackeling your problem. Look for "Merged Tetra-Hexa Mesh in a Hybrid Tube".

With regards,
Sebastian

If my memory serves me right, there is also a video showing how to that. The guide included in my signature talks about it too

put both blockes (initially) under two materials (say fluid1 and fluid2).

Set every thing and create unstructured mesh.

go to edit mesh menu and convert mesh from hexa to tetra by selecting that part.

Or

Use hybrid meshing approach.
