I'm trying to generate a mesh in the clearance between two concentric cylinders, like a piston-cylinder assembly. The problem is that the gap is much smaller than the diameter: the gap is ~1e-6 and the diameter ~1e-3.
I tried to generate the mesh with ICEM, but I didn't succed. For starters it was very hard to select the surfaces and create the body, in order to do the blocking. Then, I've noticed that sometimes ICEM merged my two circles, I belive because they are too close to each other... I'm really having a hard time trying to accomplish this, can anyone share any information on meshing this kind of geometry? Which strategy, software etc. Do I have to change the tolerance or something like this? |
