how to import files of "CATIA"?

hi,i save catia file to .stl ,but when i import it with prostar or pro-am,software tell me "no file be found". why does it happen?can you tell me?

hi
you can do surface mesh in CATIA and save it in *.dat fromat. while importing it in proam, use type NASTRAN and MATERIAL best regards |

one more thing that u can do is save the surface as *.igs file and then import it in Pro-surf

you can follow the sequence
1. cad surface(*.igs) to prosurf 2. save as *.dbs (surface mesh)or in *.cel, *.vrt to proam |

Is the *.stl file greater than 2 GB? (For example a very big/complex fine resolved geometriy with maxsag of 0.001 (or about) and STL in ASCII).
If so try using the binary STL format in CATIA. That would reduce the file size dramatically. |
