Hi all,
I'm modelling a valve which has a filter in it. Obviously I'd like to replace the filter with a porous domain, using the directional loss model and I'd define the streamwise loss with the linear and quadratic resistance coefficients. I have set up a parameter study to find the coefficients for my two working fluids (oil at -20°C and 130°C) by calculating the pressure loss through a simplified filter model for the known mass flow rates. Now my problem is that I can find a combination of these coefficients that can reproduce the correct pressure loss for all mass flow rates for the cold oil. However for the hot oil I have to set different coefficient values for every mass flow rate. I have some previous experience with this problem, as this is the second such project of mine. In the previous project I had a different kind of oil at 0°C and 90°C and I was able to find the correct coefficient values. So only the 130°C oil does not seem to "work". What can cause this problem? |
