Hello,

I am using the ICE Extension of CFX-Pre in order to simulate an CGI engine.
After the Mesh-generation with Icem I implemented the obtained Mesh in CFX and since the settings regarding Motion, Mesh, Flow and Simulation Seutp were made on Half of my Engine geometry (half a cylinder) I used the Mesh Reflecting option to obtain my complete, symmetric engine cylinder.

I thought that CFX will automatically adopt the flow options and boundaries to the reflected geometry, but it doesen't.
Can anybody tell me what I am doing wrong ?
I tried to simulate but, as expected, the second half of my cylinder is not beeing detected from the solver and an error occures.
Thank you in advance.

Best regards,

Andrei

CFX creates new names from the original faces, so you have to adopt the selection for every bc to take the old and new name.
Other option is to copy the mesh in ICEM with "inherit names".

Hello,

Thanks for your answer.
The mesh is obtained using .rpl files, wich I created with cfx.
I presume the option with ICEM is not valid in my case.
How can I adopt the selection ? Should I create new Flow Settings for the duplicated side of my Cylinder ?
Thanks.

Best regards,

Andrei

Isn´t .rpl related to ICEM!?
CFX is not able to create meshes (afaik), only scale and move them. You create the mesh in ICEM, transfer it to CFX, apply the b.c. based on named selections.
So -either you put the "new"-faces in the correct parts in ICEM, or you change the settings for the b.c. in CFX-Pre.
