Hello,
I wanted to plot the vertical speed in function of the radius in a cylinder. I made a line (constant height, it goes from r=0mm center of the cylinder to r=12,5mm wall of the cylinder). Then I plotted v (location = line). The maximum is 89,6447 m/s and is located between r=10,5mm and r=11,5mm (according to the plot). But if I check the contour on a plane, which contains the line (plane parallel to vertical axis), the values are totally different: the maximum vertical speed is greater than 150 m/s and is located between r=12mm and r=12,5mm. I don't know what's going on here and what to think. Thing is I need these values and don't know which of these datas I can trust or even if I can trust anything... -> now I know, it's because only 8 or 9 points are used along the line (only 8 or 9 values are used, the other are interpolated), hence the sharp shape of the plot. How to tell CFX Post to use more values? The density of my mesh should offer at least 30 points on this line of 12,5mm length (the white line is the used location for the plot) I use quasi-2D mesh (axisymmetric), angle = 4°, plane and line are placed "at the center" of the wedge (angle = 2°). Thomas EDIT: the plot is made of a finite number of points, and it seems that no point were caught in the red region Last edited by Thomasbr; July 12, 2016 at 04:03. Reason: change title |

Go to your line in CFD POST. You can change the number of sample points there, right where you entered the location. The default is 10 points.

Thank you very much evcelica for your reply (I should have thought about that though): I'm going to try that next monday when I have access to CFX. I will let you know.
Have a nice week end EDIT: it worked perfectly thanks again! Last edited by Thomasbr; July 12, 2016 at 04:03. |
