Pressure definition

Hi Everyone. I had an initial run for my CFX model and I get confused about the definition of the variable 'Pressure' in the CFX Post after generating a pressure contour.
Can anyone tell me whether the variable refer to Static Pressure or Total Pressure or Dynamic pressure? Does it include the gravitational effect? Thanks for your valuable comments. |

From the drop down menu in post you are actually able to also plot "Total Pressure". Use this and the velocities as an excersize to determine whether "Pressure" means Static, Total or Dynamic.

Pressure is the relative static pressure (relative to the reference pressure you input in the Domains form). If you are running 5.5.1, the hydrostatic pressure contribution will also be included.
As Michael also pointed out, Total Pressure and other variables are available from the [...] button next to the variable list. The total pressure is also reported relative to your reference pressure. Robin |
