Default Turbulent Kinetic Energy

I am working on flow past a bluff body, after the simulation I ran post, and was delighted to see the vortex shedding as I anticipated, out of curiosity I plotted (view) the turbulent kinetic energy. It is almost similar but not identical to the vortex contours. I could not find literature in the program (maybe I am not looking very well). Does anyone have a good idea what is going on in the program or some rational explanation of what I am looking at ? or some external literature on the subject. Regards Meri
