Hello everyone!
Lately, I have been trying to model a flow for a 2d domain in CFX. I have defined the inlet profile for velocity, turbulence kinetic energy and dissipation rate. i used the K-epsilon model.
the problem i am facing is that the turbulence at the inlet at the down part varies to much from the profile i defined. As you can see the kinetic energy file at the outlet has developed well. so why is this happening. why didn't start the same at the inlet.

Please attach an image showing what you mean. Here is an FAQ which may help: https://www.cfd-online.com/Wiki/Ansy...n_the_forum.3F

But if I guess what you are asking, at your inlet you have defined the inlet velocity, turbulence intensity and epsilon. But what happens there depends on the balance of turbulence generation and dissipation, it could increase or it could decrease.
