Is there a program (such as FlowViz) or any way that can visualize the results generated by Solid Works Flow Simulation without loading it?? Are these results readable by any post processor (even if not the same performance and functionalities available through SW FS)

Hi Mohammed,

no, the results cannot be read from the native result files by any other software but if you load the results you can export it to either EnSight (commercial post processing software) or you can export it to ParaView (opensource post processor).

So you need to export it to these tools and for that you need to load the results first in SWFS and then do the export.

Boris,

Could you please help regarding how to export the results to Ensight or Paraview?

I have tried but unfortunately failed to do so.

Thank you,
Mohammed

Hi Mohammed,

in which way have you failed?
Did the export not work or didn't you find how to export?
I need to know what the problem was to better understand how I can help you.

Boris,

I didn't know how to export the results. Couldn't find the the feature in Solid Works Flow Simulation that exports results in any other format to be utilized externally.

Hi Mohammed,

You will have to go to the menu "Flow Analysis" then into "Tools" and then "Export Results...". There you can then select which format you want to export. Besides ParaView and EnSight you can also export results for stress simulation.

Boris,

As you can see on the linked picture, the option of exporting results is not available. The only option is to export the results for Simulation and even when I click on it, nothing happens!

Thank you,
Mohammed

Then you have an older version. Try to install SW 2015.

Oh, sorry I thought SW has the capability. I didn't know that it is only available in FloEFD.
