Dear all,
I modified continuous casting example of flow3d to simulate segregation of carbon in steel during casting process. But the segregation pattern is not reasonable; the solute concentration of the solidified metal is very near to the liquid metal while I guess it must be lower. I played with parameters such as DRATIO, solute diffusion coefficient, etc. but no change in segregation pattern. And another point is that changing initial solute concentration changes the result segregation patter hugely. It is not reasonable to me, too. How can I choose a proper initial solute concentration? Thanks. |
