Hello folks,

I want to simulate the dynamic motion of a rigid particle in laminar flow, doesn't matter 2d or 3d, very similar to this thread, but with much smaller particle diameter (about 1/5 to 1/10 of pipe/channel diameter). So I expect to have rotational (due to shear stress) and translational movement.

Now I would be grateful if anybody could help me with my questions:
  1. Which package would be more suitable for this purpose CFX or Fluent? (I want to compare results with our in-house solver.)
  2. How can I define moving mesh and immersed body in this case and get the local/temporal drag and lift forces.
  3. Is it possible to use a structured mesh (multi-block of course) for this purpose or am I forced to use unstructured tet auto mesh generation?
