Particle motion in laminar flow

Hello folks,
I want to simulate the dynamic motion of a rigid particle in laminar flow, doesn't matter 2d or 3d, very similar to this thread, but with much smaller particle diameter (about 1/5 to 1/10 of pipe/channel diameter). So I expect to have rotational (due to shear stress) and translational movement. Now I would be grateful if anybody could help me with my questions:
