Tank depressurization

Dear CFD community,

I am currently working on the depressurization of a tank whose volume is 1 cubic meter. The tank initially contains pure nitrogen at 40 bars. At t=0, the tank starts depressurizing through a pipe filled with water at atmospheric pressure. The goal of my study is to see how fast we can push the water away from the pipe.
The problem i am encountering is that i do not manage to specify an initial pressure inside my tank. I ve been trying to use the boundary conditions, but they can only be used on surfaces, not volumes.
Can anyone tell me how to set up initial condition for all the volume contained inside my tank please ?

since 2013... Looks like this one is hard even on Senior members!

The initial condition is part of the initialization. In the GUI it's labeled initialization. It's quite obvious how to do it if you've actually opened Fluent. 1 mouse click!

Anyone that has ever run any simulation in Fluent has gone through this. It's quite literally a rite-of-passage because you actually cannot calculate anything in Fluent without initializing.

Rather than come up with a complicated answer, it's best to just let people figure out these things. Otherwise, next they'll ask you how to read or save a case file. This isn't a joke, people actually do come onto the forums asking how to read a case file and how to write a case file.
