I'm running a 2D axisymmetric swirl DPM combustion model and I just ran into a problem, that I have not seen before.

Using the k-epsilon the value for the residual for the turbulent dissipitation is cut off at 4.9992e-01. The TUI does not report any parameters being limited.

I have en closed a screen cap of the residual plot.

Inputs on ideas or solutions are all very welcome.

Thanks in advance,

Joakim

Right off the top of my head and it might not be necessarily useful, run the simulation without solving the turbulence and see if the residuals show something weird and after a while enable the equation for the turbulence and see how it goes.
Cheers!

Hello!

You may need to make sure that you have a good mesh. (skewness, orthogonality, boundary layers)
