Hello Guys
I wanted to model a pulsation bottle used at the suction end of a reciprocating compressor. Now the inlet flow is hermonic and I wanted to model the pulsation generated inside the bottle. I am wondering if fluent would allow you to solve the problem in frequency domain, since the inlet flow has only one frequency, which corresponds to the RPM of the compressor. I am guessing I can do a time transient solution to capture the wave for may be 2-4 time period, but I wanted to avoid doing a transient solution, as I want the result fairly quickly. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks |

If you want to solve in the frequency domain, you need a spectral solver. Unfortunately Fluent is a space-time solver.
