Hi!

I am running a 2D steady turbulent simulation for a flow through an orifice (D=90mm, Beta=0.35, V_in=1.01m/s), I am quite unclear as to which solver to use between coupled and segregated? Should I use pressure-based or density-based?

Thanks in advance y'all !

Assuming the fluid is air-like, the throat Mach number seems low for an orifice (M~0.03). Since it seems the flow is incompressible, I think you can get away with using the pressure based solver.

The continuity, momentum, and energy equation, if used, are always coupled in the density based solver.

Any of the P-V coupling in the pressure-based solver can be used: SIMPLE or PISO if segregated or coupled. The difference in the P-V coupling schemes mostly affects the number of iterations until convergence.
