Hi all,
I have a problem that when I simulate Premixed Combustion LPG(60%Propane+40%Butane) with air in Fluent. But when I chose Premixed Combustion and I can't input species of propane or Butane, also equivalent ratio, mass fraction in Material tab. Could you help me? How to simulate Premixed Combustion LPG/air in Fluent? Thank you so much.

Hello,

I am also new to the combustion simulation. After working for few weeks I understood few things. Please don't take them for granted as verification from experienced users is still needed.

Premixed combustion:
No, you cannot simply select fuels, equivalence ratios etc...
You need to calculate the thermo chemical properties of the Air-Fuel mixture you wanted to burn separately. Then you need to create a mixture under materials tab and input those values. ( you need to define properties of mixture )

viz. Adiabatic Unburnt Density, Adiabatic Unburnt Temperature, Adiabatic burnt Temperature, Laminar Flame Speed & Critical Rate of Strain.

In case if you are solving under non-adiabatic condition then additional information regarding Heat of Combustion, Unburnt Fuel Mass Fraction, etc should be supplied.

Hi
find your mixture heat of combustion then the mixture fraction which reflect your stoichiometric ratio then mixture molecular weight and laminar flame speed then plug these values into mixture material properties
Cheers

HI,
I am a newer in premixed combustion. When I use the FLUENT to modeling, I am confusing about the premixed combustion using Zimout model in FLUENT. I can't find where can I specify the mixture(methane-air) equivalence ratio or about the mixture materials.
Anyone knows how to solve it ? Please help me. Thanks in advance! This question is confusing me several days!
Best regards!
