Dear All,

I'm a Master's student working on my project. I'm trying to simulate the blood flow in the Brachial Artery. I have the velocity profile as a graph (velocity against time) and hoping to obtain the points from the graph (attached).

Can someone please help me by suggesting a method to input these data points to ANSYS Fluent to satisfy the inlet flow profile condition?

Thank you in advance.

I recommend datathief to reverse engineer the plot into numeric format. Nowadays there are various tools available to grab data from picture files, but datathief is the only one I've used personally.

Then you just make a "profile" in Fluent. Check out the user guide, there's a tutorial. Basically you just make text file with a two column list of:
time velocity
0 1
1 1.1
2 1.2
3 1.4

Read the profile into Fluent. Then, when you go to setup your boundary conditions, reference this profile.

Hi Luckytran,

Thank you very much for the help. I have inserted my data as a transient profile but I get the error as shown in the attached image.

Would you know the reason for this error message ?

Anyone please feel free to comment.

Regards
