Hi guys,
I try to mesh a 3D centrifugal pump! Using spalart-allmaras model y+ has to be 1 or greater than 30. I made a boundary layer near the blades fine in order to achieve the y+ = 1. Because of the huge number of cells i cant do the same for the other walls of the pump. That will affect the solution? Is there anything else that i have to care for using this model? Thanks |

The only way to know if the solution is affected is to demonstrate grid independence.

Is there a formula that is used to calculate the y+ for the pump simulations?
