Moving/deforming mesh capabilities will be included in FLUENT 6.0. This version should be released by early 2001.

Will it be possible to write UDFs that can modify the mesh as the solution proceeds, so as to capture a moving front in the solution and redefine the computational domain at each time-step????

This would be useful for some phase-change type problems where tracking the interface explicitly may be computationally more efficient than a VOF type method and where spatial and temporal sizes are very large.

Yes, users will be able to use a UDF to modify the mesh as the solution proceeds.

Do you have an exemple UDF to do this?
