Smagorinsky closure model for LES

Default Smagorinsky closure model for LES

mixing length in the smagorisnky closure model is givent by :

L_S=min(k_Fd, C_SV^(1/3))

C_SV^(1/3) with C_S=0,1 is the classical smagorinsky formulation but where does the other terms k_Fd come from ? nothing is said within the documentation.
