How to use UDF to define a rotating wing

I want to realize the motion of a wing rotating around a axis by using the UDF. I assign the motion with the DEFINE_CG_MOTION macro, but I can't realize the wing(wall) rotate. How to do these? Whether the methods of sliding mesh and dynamic mesh can be use together ? thanks a lot !

Hi,

If it is simple rotating motion, the sliding mesh is the best way because it's very easy . We do only set the angular velocity and the center of origin.

If a very complex motion is including, we have to use MDM.

I recommend the sliding mesh.

But I want to make the wing's locomotion in both rotation and linear motion. how to do it ? what is MDM. Thanks

Hi,

MDM is a shortened form of the Moving Dynamic Mesh.

I think that your motion can be calculated only with moving mesh and the re-meshing is suitable.
