I have question about DPM model. Hope someone can help me.

I create one injection, single, inert, diameter is 1.78e-6m, mass flow rate is 7.969e-11 kg/s. The number of particles should be 10,000 if number = mass flow rate /mass of a particle.

After the uncoupled calculation converged, I checked Report - Discrete Phase - summary. It only shows there is one particle. Total number of parcels : 1 Total number of particles : 1.000000e+00

Why? Thank you in advance. Tom

Hello Tom,

When you specify "single" in the "injection type"....there will be only one particle and the mass flow rate you specified is inappropriate(not considered). If you want 10,000 particles specify "group" for the injection type in "Set Injections Properties" panel and your mass flow rate should be total mass flow rate/ number of particles. Hope this helps.
