Default radiation and symmetry

Hi,

I have recently begun to investigate modelling a very simple laminar flow with a symmetry boundary (flow between two parallel plates - symmetry is halfway between the two plates and parallel to them). I am concerned about using this symmetry boundary, however, because I am using a radiation model as well. When I model the entire flow I notice a drastically different temperature profile than when I use the symmetry boundary. The dominant mode of heat transfer is radiative. Does anyone have any experience with symmetry and radiation?

Thanks, Mark

We have had no problems using radiation and symmetry, including axisymmetry, but it may depend on which radiation model you are using. We typically use DTRM or DO. Are you using one of these two?
