hello all,
Can someone advice me how to monitor for convergence. It so happen that we I see the graph no longer change but when I let it iterate more, it will some how change a bit. How do we actually lok at the residual plots? Why when you cahnge the relaxation factor, the convergenve will cahnge as well? If so, how do we know whether it has really converged no matter in what condition it is(e.g underwhat relaxation factor). I am rather new in Fluent. thanks. Sham. |

Hi,
The best advice I would give you is read the Fluent manual! Especially if you are new to Fluent. I am sure you will get answers to all of your questions there. But just quickly in somewhat simple terms, I don't know your CFD background but, under-relaxation factors determine how fast the Fluent code computation progresses (it directly determines the convergence behavior - i.e. STABILITY ). For "simple" flows you can set a higher under-relaxation parameters. When you have convergencec problem, you might comeback to these settings and reduce the factors a bit(most of the time - the pressure URF ). As for the solution progress graphics window you should be able to see everything if you set proper scaling. I think if you just leave the default values you should be fine...select plot and autoscale/normalization etc... Again pls read the manual - its very helpful for ur problem rgds Melaku Habte |
