hi, When I want to revolve a meshed surface to create a meshed volume, although I check the "with mesh" button, it doesn't revolve the mesh.. It just revolves the face, and deletes mesh. Can anyone help me with that situation? Taskin

You can't.

Revolve the face to create the volume, and then mesh it manually. Revolving a surface mesh to create a volume mesh doesn't happen because there is too much information needed to create a volume mesh, and the software would have to make too many assumptions to get it to work properly. If you don't use the "with mesh" option it should keep the surface mesh there for you. Then you can link the mesh on the opposite surface, and mesh the remaining faces appropriately.

Hope this helps, and good luck, Jason

hi, when I revolve it without mesh, it again deletes the face mesh.. I even tried to create the meshed face again after revolving it and meshed the volume then, but this time GAMBIT crashed..

Sounds like there is an issue with the geometry. It might be too complicated for Gambit to handle.

Sometimes it's just too much for Gambit to handle. You can delete the face mesh and revolve the geometry. Then SAVE the model! Saving often seems to keep Gambit stable. I think it has to do with freeing up memory, but I'm not a computer whiz, so I'm not completely sure why. Then try building your mesh again.

Another thing you can try is splitting the face into pieces and revolving the smaller faces.

Hope this helps, Jason
