I want to have a plot of maximum temperature versus time for an unsteady simulation. I have written an UDF for calculating the maximum temp. at each instant.Now,how do I save all this data on a txt file? is there some method of writing the data and exporting it. I have no idea how to export graphs of property variation with time.The export panel only provides for exporting data at that instant.

You don't need a UDF. You can use a monitor built into Fluent.

Solve->Monitor->Surface

Turn on at least one surface monitor. Name it whatever you want. The plot check box will create a plot window with the data vs. time. The Print check box will print the data in the main fluent window. The Write check box will create a text file with the monitor data in it. You'll probably want to do Plot and Write. Printing the data is up to you. Change it from "Iteration" to "Time-Step" under Every.

Click Define to open the monitor window. Under Report Type, change it to Vertex Maximum, or Facet Maximum. Under Report Of, change it to the appropriate variable (Temperature and Static Temperature). In here select "default-interior" or whatever the name of your fluid volume is under Surfaces.
