I would like to study the heat transfer into a porous medium (through a particule filter) but it seems that fluent doesn't accept the treatment of it. the porous zone appears like there is no heat transfer. Do you know if it is possible to do it and how? Thanks. Alexis

I think you need to go back a re-read the manual. You will have to use a porous medium and not a porous jump. Heat transfer in a porous medium is the same as in any other fluid zone, except that the thermal conductivity is the volumetric average of the fluid and solid conductivities.

Ok thank you for your answer. I would like further details about it. To use porous media, we have to define a zone of fluid (in gambit) and to put the different coefficients related to turbulence. But as it concerns the heat transfer, what parameter should I change to modelise it with the real caracteristic of the porous solid material (ceramic in my case). Thank you. Alexis

You need to define a material for the solid phase just like any other material. When you define the porous media, you specify the material to use for the solid phase and the porosity (volume fraction) and FLUENT does the averaging for you.
