Hi everyone,

I have a question about injection properties in DPM.

I want to inject particles from the curved surface ,and set the particles velocity in a direction perpendicular to the curved surface. I think I can create such as injection by creating many single particle injection. It will be hard.... Because I want to inject many particles from the curved surface, maybe 100 or 200 particles. So I have to create 100 or 200 injections.

Does anybody know how to create surface or group injection where particles velocities are in direction perpendicular to the curved surface? Or if there is some UDF to set the velocity of injection particles like that, please let me know.

Regards, AKR

I would use the file option (at the bottom of the list). Create a file (Excel or similar) which lists for each injection, the X, y & Z location, the U, V & W velocity, temperature, diameter, massflow, etc.

Details are in the manual

Thanks, Marek.

I found the file option. But I cannot find the detail explanation in the manual. Could you tell me where I can find the detail? Or how to make such as file?

Sorry, It does not appear to be in the documentation.

Format is as follows:

For each injection

((Xpos Ypos Zpos Uvel Uvel Wvel Diameter Temperature Massflow )injection_name)

Therefore, 200 injections will result in a file with 200 lines formated as above

Thank you very much, Marek. I will try that.

Thanks again.
