Hello,
I prepared my model for a case of 3 bladed HAWT. Using periodicity, ı modeled the 1/3 of the flow domain.Calculation coverges successfuly with constant angular velocity and varying wind velocities. FLUENT gives unreal power values where I get several Cp values exceeding 1. My question is, supposing the modeling, meshing and solving stages are correct, is this a possible situation in FLUENT? Am I choosing unrealistic values? Turbine diameter is 40 m and wind velocities are: 4, 5, 8, 10, 20 m/s with fluid domain's constant angular velocity of w=2 rad/s. Thank you for your valuable time... |

By the way I use Cp = Pcfd/Pwind where
Pwind = 0.5*rho*A*Vwind^3 |
