Good morning, I'm an Italian student and I'm doing my graduationn thesis on the utilization of Fluent to simulate the drop formation from a membrane's pore. I should build the mesh with Gambit and I would like to know if some of you have some information about this subjet. Thank you very much!!!

Yes, you're right. I would like to simulate the formation of a drop from a membrane's pore in the pressure's homogenization process. I talked with someone about it but they told me that Fluent is not appropriated because I should model the formation of the drop from a fixed support so I cab't use Fluent but other CFD like Femlab. Wath do you think about it? Thank you for informations.

Yeah, I think you heard right. As far as I am aware, Fluent does not have any model/method of simulating drop formation. Most of the droplet models I have seen assume that the droplet is already formed and simulate from that point forward. I am not sure what package will be good for this. Femlab might be good, but you might want to ask someone with experience in using it.
