Patching velocity in VOF

Hello
I am simulating a simple 2D VOF problem of a (planar) drop impinging on a wall. I created a separate region for the planar drop and patched volume fraction for liquid as 1. However how do I patch velocity to it, so that when the simulation start, the liquid in this drop region has this prescribed velocity? I tried patching the velocity to mixture in this region however the drop wanders aimlessly very unphysically. Any thoughts/suggestions? |

You have the right idea. You should patch the volume fraction to your region of the droplet and then patch the velocity to that same register. This should only apply the velocity within the same region to which you patched your fluid. Make sure you are not patching the velocity to the entire volume.
A quick check after patching is to analyze a contour of phase fraction and velocity. You should only see a velocity inside the droplet. Let me know if this works or if you're still having issues and we can go from there.
