Dear experts,

I was wondering what may be the cause of my UDF not working on a windows machine (the same UDF works on a Linux platform without any problems.) Any insights would be extremely welcome.

Are you facing problem in the compiling / interpreting or the actual results from the UDF?

Hello and thanks for the reply! My UDF will not compile on a Windows platform. However, the UDF compiles on Linux and works as designed to (although the code is rather complicated, over 1500 lines!) This is the following print out when attempting to compile this UDF on Windows:

Deleted old libudf\ntx86\3d\libudf.dll

1 file(s) copied.

1 file(s) copied. (system "copy C:\Fluent.Inc\fluent6.3.26\src\makefile_nt.udf libudf\ntx86\3d\makefile")

1 file(s) copied. (chdir "libudf")() (chdir "ntx86\3d")() 'nmake' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. 'nmake' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

You don't have a properly set up compiler. Take a look at the FAQ and/or search the forums - this issue comes up a lot.

Hi, Have you loaded C compiler. If you have MS Visual Stdio, load VC++ and while loading you need to set the environmental variables. If this is done, you wont get the problem which you were mentioning. Rgds,

That is a good suggestion. Would just like to add to it.

Once you have set the environment, might be good to start FLUENT from the VC++ prompt and not at the windows mode.

Cheers, Woo
