Rotating boundsary ?

for example, air flows inside a 3D square channel, say x is flow direction, y,z are cross direction,the case is very simple. The channel sits 0.5m from y-axes. Now, I want to study the effect of rotation. The channel is rotating with y-axes, how to set rotating boundary?
if I have set "FLUID, single moving frame, ratating velocity=500rpm, direction(0,1,0)" For wall, what is the difference in wall boundary between "staionary" and "movingwall,relative to adjacant cell zone, speed=0" ? for this case, which option should I choose? thank you |

I don't think you could using a moving wall BC for the walls in youre duct, as it not symmetric about x axes. I mean, you can set that in Fluent, but you won't have a good solution for your problem.
For solving that, I think you'll have to use some moving mesh models... Not quite easy to set! Do you really have to use a square channel? Can't you have a cilindric duct? With a cilindric one, you could just do a 2D axisymmetric simulation and that'd be fine. My best regards, Victor |

i think you did not catch what i say.
I just need know how to set wall boundary for a rorating passage like gas turbine blade. it is 3D problem. The passage sit away from the coordinate. |

i think it should be wall with rotating speed.for it is no slip wall,with relatie velocity.

I still don't get your problem, but you should just use rotating wall, be sure that you set the right vector for the direciton and for the center of rotation.
You say that x is your flow direction, but it rotates around y ? It's wierd for me... |
