Grid Adaption

Folks I have a predominatly Hex, some Tri Prism O grid around a light aircraft. Clearly made Ogrid to big and near wall cells to large. Thought to use the YPlus adaption with the hanging node option. Did a few tries on some individual zones and it seems to work OK. but...
It seems quite slow. If the refinement times stay constant then to refine the full ~100,000 cells will take around 10 hours. That seems a bit high to me. Anyone have any experience on a large (mines 7.1 million cell) models with the hanging node refinement? Anyone found a way to speed it up? Thanks - Andy R |

I did adapt similar sized grids (~6 million cells) based on Y+ with hanging nodes. It takes around 20 minutes to refine ~200,000 cells on serial Fluent (Red Hat Linux 64). Hope it helps!
