Default Doubts related to DPM...Thank you all for help

Hi there,

I have couple of more questions related to DPM modeling.

1) For 'surface' type injection method in an uncoupled DPM modeling, number of particle injected per time step are equal to the number of faces on the 'surface'. How the number of particles injected per time step calculated for the 'group' and 'cone' injection methods?

2) How is the constant 'r' calculated for equation 22.2-31 at http://www.fluentusers.com/fluent/do...ug/node810.htm ? (Used to calculate the 'Random Eddy Life time')

3) In steady state DPM, if the 'Number of Tries' (Turbulent dispersion panel of 'Set injection') is greater than 1, let us assume it to be 3, what does it mean? I think it will calculate the trajectory three times. So the final trajectory will be average of these 3 trajectory OR what ?

I am positively looking forward for your help.

Thanks very much in advance,

Best Regards, Kushagra

For surface type injection : the number equal to the number of faces is the number of parcels.

thanks. What do you mean by number of parcels? Is it equal to number of particles per time step?

It's a stream of particles. You can read UDF manual 3.2.7 (DPM Macros - P_FLOW_RATE(p)), Chouki
