Default export ascii file with fluent

I am running simulation on fluent 6.3.26 and I would like to export ascii file. I know that to export ascii file, we have to use the command
:file
:export and then select ascii format

The problem is that the ascii format is inactivated, and I don't understand why. Does someone have an idea why, and how to activate this option.

thanks

Are you running this in parallel mode? If I run on a single node I can write to ascii. good luck

I am having this same problem - and it appears when i open a case on one node or multiple. The data I am reading was computed in parallel mode. Would this make a difference? I am trying to export data through the following command sequence: file export

but there is no ascii option avaiable. In the GUI it is greyed out.

Hi,

It's not possible to export your data in ascii if you've computed in parallel mode.

http://hpce.iitm.ac.in/website/Manuals/Fluent_6.3/fluent6.3/help/html/ug/node117.htm

When using the parallel version of FLUENT, you can export only the following packages:
ABAQUS
ANSYS Input
CGNS
EnSight Case Gold
Fieldview Unstructured
I-deas Universal
NASTRAN
PATRAN
Tecplot
