Hi
I am trying to generate a grid for a particle deposition problem using FLUENT. The geometry involves an outer cylinder with a small inner cylinder exactly at the centre of the outer cylinder. Flow enters through a small cylindrical passage from one end of the outer cylinder and impinges on one face of the inner cylinder. The geometry looks something like the drawing below in 2D where 1 is the outer cylinder, 2 is the pathway for flow and the other smaller dots represent the inner cylinder. 1--------------------- 2----- --- 2----- --- 1--------------------- I created the 3d geometry as follows: 1) Use 'volume' option to create cylinder 2. 2) Same option to create cyl 1 and then cyl 3. I then tried subtracting vol3 from vol1 and got the message saying that the volume has been subtracted. But the 'shaded' view still shows the opening of cyl 3 grayed out. Any help with this would be appreciated. |
