Default udf - c++ compiler does not work

Hi everybody,

I would like to use a udf, but when I try to compile an example from the manual, I get the error:

'nmake' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

I am working with Win xp and installed Microsoft Visual 2008 c++ on my machine. But in the faq it says that I have to enable the "register environment variables" option. I could not find that during the installation. Could anyone please explain me how to do that in detail? That would be really great help!

Thank you, Matthias

you may need to read instructions in Visual 2008 on how to enable the environmental variables.
