The model is about a porous granule moving in an infinite fluid, i set the velocity of the fluid, and make the surface of the porous granule to be interface, but after i set the interface in FLUENT, there appeared two walls in the place of the interface, and the results you can see in the picture, the velocity of the surface of the granule is zero. i think it's wrong, but i don't know how to change it. i need your help, thank you !

it is normal
you have to define your interface in Fluent But Fluent shouldn't start, if you have interfaces BC which are not defined as pair. So in gambit define your first interface as interface_1 The second as interface_2 (we are agree that inteface_1 and interface_2 are superposed). then export your mesh in fluent. A check mesh should failed because of the interfaces which are not defined. Then define/interfaces... Create a set of interfaces with interface_1 and interface_2 Again a check mesh... it should be successful Recompute

mAx,thank you very much! my work is just as you described, but when i set the interface with interface_1 and interface_2, there appeared wall_11 and wall_12 in the place of the interface. i think it's right, but the wall here made me confused, and the results shows the velocity of the place is zero. can you help me? |

when you import your mesh in fluent, what kind of BC is given to the interfaces?
and are those wall_11 and wall_12 already listed? (prior to the definition of interfaces-pair)

the BC of the interfaces i set in the gambit are interfaces(both of the face) there are no wall_11 and wall_12 before. and when i show the wall_11 and wall_12 in the grid display, the FLUENT showed : "Note: zone-surface: cannot create surface from sliding interface zone. Creating empty surface. " |

On your picture I see there is a little opening (no more blue color on the circle)
That means the inner circle is connected with the extern domain. Can you post the same picture as prior, but only with the mesh and a zoom to this interface.

thank you very much! 1 and 2 are meshes of the porous ball and a plane in the center of the fluid 3 is the velocity of the interface |

ok I think the meshes are connected.
disable visibilty of mesh, and click on the icon at the bottom next to the examine mesh. (the one wit color blue-red-green) post a picture of the geometry (ball). Then delete the interface BC, and export the mesh. In fluent, go and see if fluent generates automatically wall surfaces (wall£_11 and wall_12) question: how many surfaces are defining your ball?

thank you ! but i am so sorry i can't understand "click on the icon at the bottom next to the examine mesh. (the one wit color blue-red-green) post a picture of the geometry (ball)",you mean i should show which geometry? And after i delect the interface BC in the gambit, i read the mesh in the fluent, which generates two surface at the place of the interface:wall and the wall:001,and the two face has different grid ,you can see in the picture, both of them can be show, don't like the wall_11 and the wall_12,they can't be shown in fluent. |

ok if you have 2 superposed surfaces with different mesh size it is ok (--> not connected volumes).
I don't have fluent anymore, so I cannot check the interfaces definition. if fluent displays just 2 superposed surfaces, that means that there is just one surrounding surface from the ball What you can try is to split the surrounding surfaces in 4 (quarter) , for both domains (exterior and interior of balls) And then define separately 4 interfaces pro domain. (you will have 8 interfaces: 4 pairs). You can also upload your dbs on a share server, I will take a look at your gambit geometry. One more question: does fluent give you any warning-error while defininig the interface-set in define/interfaces... ?

my .dbs is here: http://d.namipan.com/d/3d318b5dfdd60...1480fb0000d001 the FLUENT shows nothing wrong when i defininig the interface-set in define/interfaces,just appear two faces——wall_11 and wall_12, O(∩_∩)O~ |
