hi all,

i am doing my bachelor project is simulation of 2 phase flow (liquid gas) in pipeline and i need some help please

my case is that i have a pipe line immersed in water and opened from the bottom part and the side, and then air enters from the side and pushes the water up so it acts as air lift pump

boudary counditions bottom is inlet vent and the side is pressure inlet for air

whenever i enter my boundary conditions i dont get results i dont know why my pressure inlet is 80,000 pascal and at the inlet vent the initial pressure is 40,000 pascal.

attached is what i get

thank you for your help

I do not understand why the bottom of the pipe is not a wall for example, and the second why you use inlet vent as a BC?!?!?! Just fill the pipe with water, tell if the top of the pipe is open and set air inlet as mass or velocity inlet...

You can try pressure inlet condition for water, and may be mass flow/velocity inlet for air.

thank you for your reply...

i am not very familiar with fluent so my questions would seem easy

for Philipov
1- How to tell fluent that pipeline is filled with water or it is set automatically

2- the top is defined as Pressure outlet

for Srjp
i will try your Suggestion

Thank you

After initialization of the calculation (just before to pres the iterate button) go to "Patch..." command and tel that all the domain is filled with water (volume fraction=1)
