Hi Everyone,

I am trying to simulate a short 3D section of a square cylinder (to represent a basic airfoil) and I want to monitor surface velocity and pressure data at several points along the span.

I am working with Fluent in ANSYS 12.0 workbench. How many measuring points will I be limited to if running the simulation on a standard 2GB desktop computer?

Currently, the model is around 0.5m in span length and 0.05m in cross-section. I am monitoring only the near wake, so the computational domain is quite small. But the mesh is quite fine, as I am running LES to capture the wake details.

Does any also know the best turbulence model to run simulations of a flat plate or airfoil in FLUENT?

Any other information I will be glad to mention, if needed.

Would any please be able to help on this matter? It would be greatly appreciated.

Thankyou all for your time.
