Particle tracking

Hello all,

I am working on a droplet separator, DPM , 1 way coupling. (FLUENT)

I have achieved the velocity etc. contours according to my expectation. But I am not able to track the particles. all the particles are evaporating very quickly.

particles injected: 1990, escaped: 0, trapped: 1, evaporated: 1800, incomplete = 89..

even I can cannot visualize the particles tracked in the whole domain. what might be the reason for this ? How to make the particles to move till the outlet of my domain.

Hi.

Why would you want to track particles that do not exist? Do they evaporate in reality? If so, you know that there won't be any particles left to track, right?

If they do not evaporate in the experiment then you're right in that they will travel downstream of your domain, but why would you enable particle evaporation in the simulation when this is not representative of the reality?

To track the particles you have to go to the the Results/Graphics and animation section in Fluent's window. Then Graphics/Particle Tracks and hit Setup. Then select the injection you set up and click Display.
