I am doing a numerical simulation of a barge at low velocity (Froude = 0,09). Therefore, the wave length is small, applying fine refinements of the free surface. The problem is a high number of sliver cells, because the intersection of prism layer with trimmer.
How many prism layers can i use for this case? Can i use a prism layer thickness very small compared with the boundary layer, considering that i'm using "very slow" for the template control and there are a free surface very refined? Last edited by Bruno Mendes; April 4, 2019 at 14:29. |

Ideally you just want to grow the prism layers until the last layer is the same size as the core mesh. When this criterion is reached, there's very little to distinguish between a prism cell and non-prism cell except for the cell orientation.
