First things first, I am a newb to CFD simulations so pardon my vocabulary.
I have a 3D model, it's an important prototype and I just need to see a simple wind tunnel simulation of my model (if that exists). lines, dots, colors, vectors, whatever. Anything to show me the basic aerodynamics of my design.

I use Google Sketchup (Yeah I know, but this isn't my hobby)
I added Khamsin
I was able to install everything but "Ensight" (Khamsin failed to for some reason)
Anyways, after countless hours of messing with settings and running analysis' out the wazoo, I've gotten nowhere.

Is Khamsin the simplest route for my rudimentary CFD needs?
If so, what are the pre-analysis tasks that are required in order to view a simple wind tunnel simulation using Khasmin?

I am an Electronics and computer engineer, meaning I'm fluent in geek speak so don't spare me.

Hi Steve,

I don't know if there is such a thing as a "simple wind tunnel simulation". Depending on the physics of your problem, it can be hard to get these analyses working and even harder to get realistic results from them. If you want help form the forum you should provide much more information about the geometry of your model and the physics of the problem you are trying to solve. Also let people know exactly what you need to get out of your simulation and exactly what is not working. You haven't really provided any information except that you have a 3D model and your analyses aren't working.

There are a couple of FAQ pages on the site that were written for commercial codes but contain good advice and might be worth looking at:

Also, take a look at OpenFoam and some tutorials on aerodynamics simulations. Its a powerful, open-source CFD code with a dedicated community.

Good luck,
Dave
