Hi,

I modeled a heat sink in a fixture in a wind tunnel under forced convection scenario @1.5m/s using 2 softwares. One of the software's uses Zero equation and other uses K-epsilon model turbulent model.
Questions:
1. Does Zero equation have turbulence intensity as input? I know in k-epsilon
model I use that as a input
2. The way flow is being resolved is different in both software's because I am using 2 different turbulent models. I believe flow is properly being resolved with k-epsilon model.
on the contrary there is a very good correlation on temperature on heat sink between results from Zero equation model on 4 heat sink configurations compared to test data. With k-epsilon model I have to modify the turbulence intensity to achieve correlation based on heat sink configuration.
That does not make sense. Can any one please comment.
PFA for pictures of velocity vector plot with Zero equation and K-epsilon model.
Would greatly appreciate your feedback.

Thanks

I suggest you try k omega. we prefer it for Aerofoil simulations where the near body flow plays important role in drag approximation. Same way, the near body flow shall play a significant role in heat transfer. K e model is usually preferred for open flows.
