Hello, everyone, I want to read the standard JPEG file recorded by digital camera. Does anyone have a piece of code reading that file and output as ascii file? I want to read the raw data, averaging them and find some global properties. It doesnot matter the code is in FORTRAN, C, or Visual BASIC. Any suggestions on how to get that decoding and encoding algorithm is also welcome. Thanks! Tingguang

Look here for JPEG source. There are many higher level graphic packages that may be helpful to you as well. A particularly good one is ImageMagick. |

yeah I had a buddy of mine who used matlab to do some analysis of images (FFTs etc). I don't know how but I know it can be done and it's not hard
