Non-commercial CFD codes

Hi everybody,
this is my first post to this forum, so I guess I should introduce myself a bit! ;-) I've studied mathematics at Bonn university and did my diploma back in 1997. After that, I did some research for my PhD (with Prof. Noelle) on genuinely multi-d schemes for Euler equations and magnetohydrodynamics. After my PhD, I joined Bayer AG in 2000, where I work in a group that does a real lot of CFD. I've had a lot of experience with developing CFD software, and for my work, I mainly use CFX4. In our projects, we have to deal with a large scale of physical models: Turbulence, multi-phase, chemical reactions, heat transfer, moving 3d geometries, non-Newtonian fluids, free surface problems, to name just a few. Needless to say that there is no such a thing as a single code that can cover all of this effectively. For special projects, we're looking for some non-commercial CFD-codes that we could use in such situations. Right now I'm doing a screening of available special purpose codes. If you, your professor, your colleagues or whoever was or still is developing a Navier-Stokes code with one or another of the aforementioned applications, please let me know. The code should be 3d and a turbulence model should be available, as a minimum requirement. Thanks a real lot for your replies in advance, Chris |
